7 May - my "mobile" home for Iceland

the nice weather made me to start up some more preparations today. This time I focused on the tent. A very important item, as this needs to be water AND WINDproof and will be my home for several weeks. 

I chose for the Nordisk Oppland SI 2 tent, a siliconised tent, as this is ultralight (only 2,9kg) AND  strong material at the same time.  The only "weak points" are the seams, which are sewed and therefore perforated the tissue. The company guaratees that this is not causing any leakage, but I won't take any risk ...: I covered the seams with an extra silicone layer on the insight of my tent.

As Iceland is known to be "wet", I decided to carry the footprint as well. This will increase the comfort at the insight of my tent by keeping the "floor" and by this way all my material and luggage dry. I don't see myself sleeping in the mud;-)

Anyhow, I hope the rain Gods and Thor especially, won' t be too angry with me that period...
